ABOUT

We’re a thriving and supportive group of Group Practice Owners in and around Washington State. We’ve done an out of town Summit for a few years and it’s been amazing! And, we wanted to do something here, local, and accessible to more folks.

There will be a Keynote Speaker, group discussions, facilitated topics, and time to connect with others who are immersed in this work. See more below or click here to register.

Why this day exists

Running a group practice is a strange kind of lonely. You carry the clinicians, the clients, the payroll, and your own caseload, and most of the people who actually understand that are the owners down the road you almost never talk to. The Fall Gathering is the day you talk to them.

It is not a keynote marathon and it is not a hall of vendor booths. It is a well-run day built so owners learn from each other, with enough structure that you meet the room instead of clustering with the one person you already know.

This is a WAGPON event, organized by a volunteer committee of members. It is small on purpose. We are planning for 40 to 60 owners and we cap it at the room, so the day stays close enough to meet most of the people in it.

Who it's for

  • Owners of group mental health practices across Washington, from those ready for their first hire to long-established

  • Newer owners a few years in, working out the first hires and the first real systems

  • Established owners carrying 20, 30, or more clinicians who want peers at their size

  • Clinicians seriously planning to open a group practice, even if you haven't hired yet

What the day looks like

The value is the people, so the day is built around them. We open with a short talk to set the tone, then an owner panel where four or five practice owners at different sizes talk about money, hiring, and the parts nobody posts about, with real time for your questions. From there, the day runs on you.

  • Meet the room. Small rotating groups with light prompts, so you leave having met a dozen peers, not standing by the coffee.

  • Topic rooms. Marketing and growth, hiring and management, person of the practice owner, and finance. Each one opens with "where are you stuck," then the group works it. You pick two across the day.

  • Peer rooms by size. Small and new, small and established, mid-size, and large, because a five-clinician practice and a thirty-clinician practice are solving different problems.

  • Lunch is yours. Lunch is covered, so come hungry and sit with whoever you want to keep talking to.

  • Before you leave. Sign up for a consult group, join the member directory, and hear what's coming next.

You will not sit and be lectured for six hours. You will spend the day in conversations that are actually about your practice.
